Terms of Service

Welcome to Ghostable! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Ghostable platform, including our website, CLI tools, and related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by Ghostable LLC (“we”, “our”, “us”).

By using Ghostable, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use our Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Ghostable. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. Ghostable LLC will not be liable for any loss or damage resulting from your failure to protect your login information or account access. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use or security breach.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use Ghostable to store or transmit unlawful, harmful, or confidential data without proper authorization;
Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or data related to the Service.

4. Subscription & Billing

Ghostable offers both free and paid plans. If you subscribe to a paid plan, you agree to pay the applicable fees and authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge your payment method.

All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes, duties, or levies. You are responsible for paying all such taxes. Ghostable may collect and remit taxes where required by law.

Subscription fees are non-refundable unless required by law.

5. Intellectual Property

All content, software, and trademarks used in the Service (excluding your data) are the property of Ghostable LLC or its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

6. Your Data & Privacy

We respect your data. By using Ghostable, you agree to our Privacy Policy and acknowledge that we may process your environment variable data securely and as needed to deliver the Service.

You retain all ownership of your .env content and environment configurations.

7. Security

Ghostable encrypts your data in transit and at rest using industry best practices. All communication with the Service is encrypted via SSL/TLS. Environment variables, sensitive data, and backups are encrypted at rest using industry-standard AES-256 encryption. We take all reasonable measures to protect your data both in transit and at rest. However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for implementing appropriate access controls within your own organization or organization.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause. If we do, you retain the right to export your data for a reasonable period unless your account was terminated for breach.

Upon cancellation or termination of your account, your content will immediately become inaccessible. Within 30 days, all remaining data will be permanently deleted from backups and logs, and cannot be recovered.

9. Limitation of Liability

Ghostable LLC’s liability to you for costs, damages, or other losses arising from your use of the Service — including third-party claims against you — is limited to a refund of the fees you have paid for the Service in the preceding 12 months. Ghostable LLC may not be held liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, business interruption, or lost profits.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Legal proceedings related to this Agreement may only be brought in the courts of the State of New Jersey.

12. Law Enforcement & Data Requests

Ghostable LLC will only disclose your data in response to valid legal process (e.g., subpoena, court order). We will notify you unless legally prohibited. Ghostable does not comply with broad or speculative requests and will inform you of the request to the extent permitted by law.
